Two players move pieces along the lines of a 9×10 board split by a river. Red moves first. Click one of your pieces to reveal its legal destinations, then click a highlighted point to move. The board only ever offers fully legal moves, so you can never leave your own general in check. 兩位玩家在被楚河漢界分隔的 9×10 棋盤線上移動棋子，紅方先行。點一顆己方棋子會顯示它的合法落點，再點高亮的交叉點即可走子。棋盤只會提供完全合法的走法，因此你永遠不會讓自己的將帥被將。
Each side wins by checkmate or stalemate (困斃), or when the opponent resigns. The two generals may never face each other on an open file. This edition adds a Paofuqi natural-limit draw: 100 half-moves with no capture ends the game as a draw. 將死、困斃或對方認輸即獲勝；雙方的將帥不得在無子相隔的同一直線上照面。本版另加入泡芙棋自然限著和：連續 100 個半回合無吃子則判和。
